Teeth Whitening Treatment in Montgomery County, PA
It’s a drag to have to hide a yellowing smile that has been stained by dark-colored beverages, tobacco or other factors. At Skippack Village Dentistry, we know that most patients don’t want to wait several weeks or even months to get their smile brighter — they want it instantly! We can make that happen with the Zoom teeth whitening technique, which can make your teeth whiter in as little as two hours!
In addition to Zoom, we also have a take-home teeth whitening method that you can use at your convenience day or night that will brighten discolored and stained teeth in two weeks or less.
Teeth Whitening Options
Dr. Hunter’s trained, certified assistants will apply the whitening gel to the teeth and shine a special blue light on them for 20 minutes. This light is not an ultraviolet light nor does it have any adverse effect on the patient; it simply uses a blue light wavelength to naturally activate the bleaching ingredients in the gel. Once the 20 minutes are complete, the light will be removed and more gel will be applied to the teeth, after which the blue light will again be pointed at the mouth. This process will be repeated up to four times during the visit, depending on the degree of whitening needed. This process causes no discomfort to the patient, who is free to relax, read or listen to music during the treatment.
Our take-home teeth whitening method is also available. With this method, we first make an impression of your teeth and create a mouth guard that fits your bite. You will use this mouth guard at home, filling it with a small amount of bleaching gel and wearing it overnight or for a few hours during the day. This teeth whitening process takes approximately two weeks to complete.
Good Candidates for Teeth Whitening

- Has discolored teeth caused by food or beverages
Maintaining a Bright Smile after Teeth Whitening
After having a teeth whitening treatment, you need to maintain good upkeep habits in order to keep that smile shining bright. Following good oral hygiene habits after the treatment, and including a teeth whitening toothpaste in your routine, will help. It is equally important to avoid or limit the habits that discolored your teeth in the first place, such as drinking coffee or soda or smoking tobacco.
